Last Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Giuseppe Porcaro, Policy Advisor at the European External Action Service (EEAS), for an online lecture that took our fellows straight into the future.

Mr. Porcaro introduced the concept of strategic foresight and its growing role in shaping EU foreign policy. As co-author of the “Global Trends to 2040: Choosing Europe’s Future” report, he shared key takeaways about these challenges, possible scenarios, and potential opportunities that lie ahead for Europe on the global stage.

From climate shifts to geopolitical realignments, the conversation opened space to reflect on how the EU can stay proactive, instead of being reactive, in a rapidly changing world where Europe needs to find its own voice once again.
