Clarity is the key to policy work, and that is exactly how our or fellows began last week’s workshop led by Bahadir Sirin , President of the Global Policy Research Group.
At the start of this semester, each participant chose a policy group focused on a real issue they’re dedicated about. Currently, they're working towards writing their own policy memos, and this session was their first step in that journey.
Before the workshop, each group drafted a 100-word statement outlining their stance. Then, with Bahadir’s guidance, they broke those texts down: What makes a message clear? How do you fit complex ideas into limited space? Are you really answering all the “who, what, where, when, why, and how”?
With the support from our policy officers Maria Lafazani and Christian Maurice BISSINGER everybody got to refine their thinking and their writing skills.
